Pedagogy of Language

5. Teach in an integrated manner

The four language skill- (LSRW)  listening, speaking, reading, and writing should teach in an integrated manner.listening and reading is receptive, speaking, and writing as productive skills. teach all four language skills.

6. Principle of purpose

People may learn a second or third language for different purposes for example- Commercial, social, scientific, Academy, etc. if the purpose is decided in the beginning it becomes easier to design a course suitable for that purpose. but in India, passing the examination with good marks is the main purpose of teachers as well as a student. but in the process, Many basic components are left and half knowledge is provided.  so, the purpose should be we decided at an early stage.

7. principle of the natural process

8. principle of habit – formation

An attempt should be made to form a habit in the students for learning a language through the following process.

  •  habit of a Listening
  • habit of reading storybooks, newspapers, and magazines
  • habit of going library
  • habit of using correct grammar
  • habit of Consulting a dictionary
  • habit of correct pronunciation
  • habit of repeating

9. principle of practice

language learning is acquired by practice and habits formation. so, great stress should be laid on Practice. the design takes for sufficient practice.

10. Proceed from the concrete to the Abstract

it is a psychological fact that children learn more effectively. When they can see and handle objects. A child picks up knowledge thought various senses. it enabled the child to understand the Abstract part of the knowledge. in this way, audio-visual aids are greatest at of teaching, they show a concrete thing first and the Abstract thinks and follows afterward with ease.

11. principle of accuracy and correctness

This principle leads to correct pronunciation spelling, structures, and  And accurate logic expression words having similar sounds with their different order e.g. s, sh may form a regular part of the practice.

12.  principle of a passive and active vocabulary

One Objective of teaching English is to increase the vocabulary of students. these are two kinds of vocabulary.

1  passive vocabulary- Those World which is recognized and understood but never used in speaking and writing formulate This type of vocabulary.

2  Active vocabulary – This is understood and Constantly used by the learning in speaking and writing from the active vocabulary.
